MP Jessica Toale Backs “Check In, Chill Out” Campaign Championing Bournemouth's Visitor Appeal
Following a recent flurry of negative media reports about the area, Bournemouth West MP Jessica Toale has thrown her support behind the Check In, Chill Out campaign, celebrating the area’s incredible range of attractions and encouraging visitors to explore all that the region has to offer.
The BAHA campaign is attracting support not just from hoteliers, but the wider hospitality industry, local businesses, and residents alike. Chair Rosie Radwell commented, "The national media has really hijacked the situation this summer, with relentless negative coverage. It is starting to feel like an onslaught, and it is genuinely undeserved. The coverage has been unbalanced, inaccurate and has totally focussed on the few issues that have bothered some people, but ignored all the positives about the area, such as winning awards, a successful summer season, attracting millions of visitors, ongoing inward investment into the area and the fact that we are still living in a beautiful part of country, more fortunate than many."
Check In - Chill Out is designed to focus on the many wonderful places, things to do, visitor attractions, and reasons to celebrate the Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole areas in an attempt to counter the negative narrative.
Backing the campaign Ms Toale, who has also been championing the town through her own communications channels, added: "Yes, we have challenges as a town, where doesn't? I will not shy away from raising these whenever I can - but it's more important to celebrate the positive than ever. Our beautiful coastline, our creative industries, our innovative businesses, our Victorian heritage, our cutting-edge universities, our diversity - knitting this into a story of all that we can be proud of. I will continue working with local businesses, residents, and the Bournemouth Town Centre Citizens' Panel I set up with BCP Council Leader Millie Earl to ensure positive progress continues to be made for our town."
